With lots of hopes and aspirations, we met representative of Bonito company to furnish interior designs our my newly purchased flat at Thane. We were offered a warm welcome and the company’s personnel have shown utmost professionalism in dealing. This was just the beginning of episode of being trapped into their stratagem. When we explained our requirement “IN LENGHT” the quotation which was offered to us was eighteen lac fifty thousand, we were assured that we are at the right place and all my requirements would be fulfilled within the budgetary provision.We were asked to pay 27000 upfront so that they could proceed further in formulating the designs etc. They had a detailed discussion on our requirement and prepared an estimate for Rs. 18.53 Lac and showed their magnanimity by giving me a discount of Rs.1, 50, 000/- and final estimate was to the tune of Rs.17, 00, 000/-. We were asked to pay 10% (1.83 Lac) same day which we agreed based on the assurance provided. A WhatsApp group was also formed for facilitating communication till the project is completed. After payment of advance, the scenario was altogether changed. Mr. Anurag (from the strategic team) has almost disappeared from this deal. The designer furnished a design in consonance with the estimate which was not at all to my liking. When we attempted to modify the design, the estimate was escalated to exorbitant heights beyond our reach. It was inflated to 25 Lac from17 Lac (47%). To my utter dismay, they furnished terms and conditions in such a way that the customer will have to bear all the responsibilities failing which he would be tantamount to breach of agreement and would be put to financial loss. This was evident from the body language that they have created a trap and compelled people to compromise their requirements or forget the advance. But by that time, it was too late, and they started dictating terms to me. The cost of the materials quoted by them were far higher than that quoted by the peer in the market rather they were giving AT PAR materials and better TAT. During signing we were conveyed that the project cost will vary 10% to 15% for which we were prepared but this 47% was a disaster. Their unethical approach was beyond my tolerance power and I decided to withdraw from this dubious deal which is full of flaws flouting all kinds of propriety and sense of fair play. But I demand my advance of Rs. 1.80 Lac. The designing fee of 27K can be deducted for which I don’t have any issue.
